On November 28, VETS | Energy and Environment (VETS | EnE) was honored to be assigned by the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion – Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the National Conference on Energy Efficiency and Conservation 2025 in Hue City. The conference was successfully held with the participation of representatives from provincial departments and more than 100 delegates from research institutes, universities and colleges, consulting organizations, enterprises, and energy product and solution providers.

Energy Efficiency: A Solution for Sustainable Development
The conference was organized within the framework of the National Target Program on Energy Efficiency and Conservation for the period 2019–2030 (VNEEP3). The main contents of the conference included:

A report on the implementation results of VNEEP3 and updates on policies related to energy efficiency and conservation (presented by representatives of the Department)

Hue City’s experience in promoting energy efficiency and conservation (presented by the Department of Industry and Trade of Hue)

Application of IoT–AI in monitoring and optimizing energy systems

Opportunities and challenges in promoting investment in energy efficiency projects amid amendments and supplements to laws and policies on energy efficiency and conservation

Technological solutions for intelligent electrical equipment management and control to improve energy efficiency

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang, Director General of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, stated that this is an important conference aimed at promoting Vietnam’s collective efforts to ensure energy security, advance green transformation, and fulfill international commitments toward net-zero emissions.

“In the context of global economic volatility and increasing risks in regional and global energy markets, energy conservation and efficient energy use are not only necessary tasks but also the most sustainable solutions to reduce costs, enhance competitiveness, and ensure national energy security,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam Giang emphasized.

Contributing to the event, the representative of VETS | EnE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Kien, delivered a presentation titled “Application of IoT–AI in Monitoring and Optimizing Energy Systems.” The presentation focused on real-time energy monitoring solutions using IoT platforms; the application of AI and Machine Learning in load forecasting, loss analysis, and operational optimization, thereby helping to reduce energy costs, ensure transparent energy flows, and standardize energy management in accordance with ISO 50001:2018.

The presentation received strong attention from delegates thanks to its practical nature and applicability in industrial facilities. Digital transformation is emerging as a major trend, not only helping to reduce costs and optimize operations, but also serving as a key factor enabling enterprises to become greener and smarter.

Alongside the conference, the VETS | EnE exhibition booth was one of the notable highlights in the exhibition area. Here, enterprises and delegates were able to directly experience energy optimization solutions, intelligent monitoring systems, and green transformation models. The VETS | EnE expert team provided on-site consultation, sharing experience in implementing typical projects and proposing tailored solutions for different industries.
